Organizational Culture, Organizational Commitment and Employees’ Performance: The Mediating Role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior

Abstract

This study aimed to know the influence of organizational commitmentandorganizational cultureon employees’ performance through organizational citizenship behavior (OCB)as mediating variable.Thisstudyisquantitativeresearch. Data were collected by using simple random sampling via electronic to the employees’ population in Indonesia pulp & paper industry. The number of returned and valid questionnaires was 569. Data were processed by using SEM with SmartPLS 3.0. The results of the study concluded that organizational commitmentandorganizational culture had positive and significant influence on employees’performance, both directly and indirectly through a mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study proposed a model for improving performance of employees in Indonesian pulp & paper industry by organizational commitmentandorganizational culturethroughorganizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as a mediator. This study can open the way to improve employee readiness in facing industrial revolution 4.0 era.
