Risk Management Competency Strategy in Risk Allocation within PPP Infrastructure Projects in Kuwait City
Abstract
With the increase of the number of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in Kuwait, the associated risks with such projects are being studied from many angels. This study aims at evaluating the risk allocation competency in Kuwait city within infrastructure PPP projects. The used method included two parts; identifying the main risks in the PPP infrastructure projects in Kuwait city; besides their associated criteria and mechanisms. The second part of the method included ANP analysis for the main aspects of the risk management competency as one of the risk allocation critical factors. The results of this study indicated that most of the risks within PPPs projects in Kuwait city are micro and operational while the most allocation cases are loaded for the private sector. The results of the weighted super matrix showed that finding alternative solutions insure or hedge against the risk in financial markets, control the risk causes and controlling the risk impact in terms of customer inconvenience are the most influential factors in infrastructure PPP projects in Kuwait city.
